Did you know the deceased can hear from within the grave?

“When a servant (of Allah) is placed in his grave, and his Companions depart from him, he hears the stepping sound of their shoes ”.

The deceased can hear the salaam offered to them, can reply, and are aware of those who visit them. This is why holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has placed emphasis on sending greetings and salutations to the deceased

The Journey of the Soul After Death

The journey of the deceased does not cease to exist at the point of passing or burial.

Understanding the elevated faculties of the deceased helps us to be mindful of our behaviour when we visit the graveyard. It is only a matter of time before we join the inhabitants of the graveyard.

The faculties of the pious in their graves are elevated.

But the faculties and abilities of the ones loved by Allah Almighty are unimaginable and incomprehensible.
The Holy Prophet said, “God has forbidden the earth to consume the bodies of Prophets.”

The pious who have passed away are still able to recognise the calls directed to them, and therefore the soul and its connection to the body do not cease to exist.
